Last summer, the Piloti team took an unforgettable adventure to the breathtaking country of Wales. Just a short train ride from bustling London, this bucket-list worthy European destinationwas the perfect setting for our action-packed photoshoot of the first-ever women’s driving sneaker –the Vittoria. Home to the Brecon Beacons mountain range, with sprawling green pastures and thrilling roads (which look like they were made for driving!), our team enjoyed all that Wales had to offer – in a Zaffre Blue Aston Martin DB11, of course!

Our adventure to Wales began in London – where most of our team opted for a quick train ride to the city of Swansea. Our Creative Director, James, had the pleasure of driving from London to Swanseain the car we secured for our photoshoot – a stunning Aston Martin DB11 in Zaffre Blue. We couldn’t wait to kick-off our photoshoot for the first-ever women’s driving sneaker we’d ever made – the Vittoria. We knew this photoshoot was going to be special – filled with thrilling roads, epic scenery, and a jaw-dropping sports car. After arriving in Swansea, we checked in to a local hotel and made our way (for the first time!) to the main location of the photoshoot –The Brecon Beacons

Roughly an hour from the city of Swansea lies the Brecon Beacons – a sprawling mountain range in Wales, widely known for its green pastures and thrilling, curvy roads. The Brecon Beacons are world-renowned and frequented by local cyclists, car and motorcycle lovers – and you can’t miss the dozens of sheep roaming the pastures! We’d recommend visiting during the summer months, a sour trip in June was characteristically chilly – but, with the proper gear, our team was warm enough to carry out our two-day photoshoot!

After we met up with the Birdhouse Studios film crew to scout out the incredible route we were going to drive the DB-11 on the next day, we headed to one of the local public houses in the town – enjoying fresh baked goods, hearty stews, and local whisky (for those of us who weren’t driving back to the hotel!).

The next day, we headed out for a full day of shooting along the mountainous routes – capturing the spectacular DB11 in action. One of the highlights of the trip was seeing our Managing Director, Stephanie, put our Vittoria sneaker to the test both on-foot and behind the wheel. Mid-day, we took a short break to visit Bruce, our local guide – who let us shoot the Vittoria sneaker with an incredible classic Mercedes 190 SL! While the majority of our trip was spent in the Brecon Beacons, part of our team continued their journey to some spectacular nearby destinations in the UK – visiting the Rudloe Arms hotel, owned by famous chef Marco Pierre White, and a private estate in Tiddleywink, Chippenham – where we shot a Porsche GT3McLaren 570 and 720sLamborghini Huracan and Jaguar E-type with Leah Watts (IG: @ladyleahsclassiques)

Our trip to Wales was truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure – who wouldn’t want to drive their dream car through the sprawling Welsh countryside? As we’ve learned, a road trip is only as good as the company you keep – so we’d love to give another huge shout out to the incredible Birdhouse studios crew, our tour guide, and Piloti Team member, Leah, for joining us on our adventure to Wales! It was incredible to see the Vittoria sneaker in action – we can’t wait to put it to the test in another incredible location! Where should we visit next?
